So was she your favourite one while watching the film? Is that who you gravitated towards? Yeah her one sided love with Hiroki just before she dies.Pretty sad that he couldn't pretend that he loves her, knowing that she's dying. Hey go check out the polls page and vote. There only two polls right now,ive had more planned but the weather got warm and i didn't feels like sitting at the computer.Hence the forum not being finished.

| As,for Chigusa,it had more of me being a Chiaki fan. When,I first saw the film,I didn't really pay attention to her.Yes,I've always thought the character was good, but never really pay attention, until years later.
Maybe,it has to do,I was kinda like that, when I was a kid, knowing full well the girl didn't like me that way....lol

Or are you saying you became a fan afterwards and that's why she became your favourite character?

My friend had a movie that featured her.I believe the movie was Shikoku,I'm not sure, but I didn't know, who she was at the time, but when I saw Kill Bill and Battle Royale I knew, who she was. She wasn't that hard to recognize, because she always have that mean look to her .....lol I haven't seen Shikoku,in years I need to find that movie....

| Ah yes Shikoku! I remember people saying about that on the old chiaki forum. I still haven't seen it yet, i was going to buy it but it's pretty expensive for what it is £8.46 for an old 1999 film. I bought the 3 Matrix films on blu ray for £10. I looked for it on kiss asian but it's not there. It can be find elsewhere though. Yeah i think that's why she got the role in kill bill and azumi 2 because of that look she gave off. It's like a dead look, no emotions,no care but at the same time you can still see and feel something more. And that is probably why she was never able to take off and grow her career into being more well know. But at the end of the day she is still working and has been getting roles since Battle Royale while the other actors have faded away. It's like Aki Maeda (Noriko Nakagawa) i thought she was a good new actress, i liked her portrayal of noriko,i found her more captivating that chiaki, more attractive, easier on the eyes,a better actresses. But she has never been able to get bigger. It's odd how, things work out. | |

I haven't seen Shikoku for years,it's very hard to find some of her earlier works...Hell,I've been trying to find R-17 and MPD Psycho, since Kill Bill came out and no luck at all. I still haven't seen Scrap Heaven,Into the Sun, and the Great Yokai War(even though I have it on my hard drive..lol)..

| Finding older Japanese Tv shows will be really hard.
Im not sure if it would be worth watching any of her older stuff, unless someones a hardcore fan, even new stuff can be questionable as to whether they are worth a watch.
Not because if chiaki, but more so the script, budget, how it's filmed and edited. The Japanese seem to be really cheap when it comes to mailing Tv shows.
I remember watching a Korean show called iris, that cost 50 million to make, being the most expensive Korean tv show. The Japanese don't seem to like spending much on shows, because nearly everyone ive come across looks like it was filmed with someone handycam, with a script that seems like it was written by a college student.
Theres one show that just recently ended called crows blood,it's basically got idols from the akb48 franchise starring in it.Which from what ive seen do a good job.But the quality and cinematography are amazing compared to standard tv shows,it's pretty much film quality.
But the reason why it looks like that is because they teamed up with America for hulu, that's the only place you can watch it, which is why i haven't. But it really puts to shame all the other cheap crappy looking japanese shows. And it should make the Japanese embarrassed that it took Americans to make them have the first film quality tv show in their country.
